I recall feeling very tired and somewhat 'achy' at first, which was later accompanied by difficulty in breathing and swallowing. This was related to sinus congestion and a sore throat. I recall that I would try to blow by nose quite often but this would provide only minor relief since the drainage seemed to be never ending. I also recall that the skin around the openings of the nasal passages began to feel raw and irritated from the constant wiping. My throat felt sore as I mentioned earlier. This makes swallowing difficult and somewhat uncomfortable. There were also periods when I had phlegm which necessitated me to have to spit. The phlegm also had a greenish-yellow color to it, which confirmed the significance of this illness. I attempted to remedy my symptoms by taking some over the counter medication which provided some relief but also contributed to making it more challenging for me to get through the day since I felt so tired and 'medicated.'.DWhy do you think it was this severe?,CBWhat kind of illness did you have?7/APlease recall the last time that you had a cold or the flu. I definitely didnt miss not being sick. It started when I began having trouble walking, my body became very weak. Everything on me hurt, and I didnt want to move. After about 3 hours of laying in bed I felt like I was going to throw up. Fortunately, I had someone bring up a bucket to my room, however. I threw up repeatedly. When I was finished, I had to brush my teeth, and I figured since I was up, I would take a shower. This was a relieving feeling for me as I sat in the shower for about an hour. This spell of aching body and stomach flu continued for about 2 days, so I had about 12 hours to study for a test that I hadnt even begun studying for. I took Advil, Tylenol, whatever pain medicine I could find. But it got worse and by two days before my birthday, I went to see a doctor. I wanted to make sure I got well by my birthday so I could party and get my free drinks. Well, it turn out that I had some sort of bad infection of the sinus, and the doctor prescribed for me to take antibiotics for the next 10 days, even if I felt better. Ubetween mild&severe b/c I could still do my job, but my work was affected It was about a month ago and I was working all of the time (50-65 hours a week). I work in a restaurant and was wearing myself down. Since I work around a lot of people and a lot of germs I was a good candidate to get sick. Since my immune system was down (lack of sleep, I go to school and work) I caught a sore throat. I talk a lot too because I waitress so talking intensified my sore throat. Then mucus started filling the back of my throat the next day of work. And I got a cough. I had the mucus stuff a little in my lungs for about 4 days. I got over this illness when I was relaxing and getting some rest and sleep--and not working! Then I began having nasal congestion, and the sore throat progressed to a severe cough. Also, I had dizzy spells and periods of nausea. 5s)there are worse things to get than a cold e)Over spring break I had a really horrible cold. It started the last day of class and got worse when I went home. I couldnt sleep and I didnt want to eat, because I had nasal congestion and a sore throat. Which was bad because I was home which meant real food for once. It lasted the entire week, and cleared up right after I came back to school. My father wanted me to go to the doctor to see if it was a sinus infection, but I never did. It seemed like to much trouble, so I just took over the counter severe cold stuff and lots and lots of Vitamin C. I wanted to get zinc lozenges but they were like 8 dollars a bottle so I didnt. I dont know if it was the medicine or the fever, but at times I felt like I had a buzz. Of course I had all the common symptoms. I would wake up at night either sweating my ass off or shaking horribly from being so incredibly cold.
